Teaching Philosophy

Jigna Fadia has been a student of yoga since childhood and loves her practice. Her elementary school education in India was in a Gandhian school where chanting, pranayama, and meditation were incorporated to enhance energy throughout the day. She has lived and traveled extensively in India and Europe.

Jigna met Mar Jean Olson in 2007 and was inspired to complete the 750-hour Teacher Training and 250-hour Graduate Teacher Training program at Esther Myers Yoga Studio in Toronto, Ontario, facilitated by Tama Soble and Monica Voss. Her passion to continue learning and exploring different traditions lead her to practice and explore the Zen tradition under Edward Espe Brown and Breathing and Pranayama with iRest under Richard Miller and Stephanie Lopez.

She has additional training from Ashtanga Yoga and Iyengar Yoga traditions from India and The Netherlands under Harsha Shah and Dr. Shailaja Mulbagal. She is registered with Yoga Alliance under RYT-500.

Journey with Vertigo & Menier’s

“My life was upside down for 6 months. I couldn’t stand, sit, walk on my own. I have been in a space where it feels to be in a vacuum, isolation, delusion, anxiety of the unknown, stress. Soon after, I took up yoga again and went back to my community. In a community yoga setting, my teacher never made me realize what I was going through. She included me in all the postures and was careful to offer me options and variations. It turned my journey inside out.”

Giving Back Through Yoga

Jigna seeks to help others nurture the body, mind, and soul with breathing, meditation, and yoga to feel refreshed and nourished throughout the day. Her practice has helped nurture and develop her inner resources, grow stronger as a person and develop skills in communicating the many benefits of yoga and breathing meditations on and off the mat.

Since 2014, she has taught yoga and breathing meditation in a wide variety of settings including studios, community centers, organizations, medical facilities, mental health facilities, and privately. Her teaching is inspired by Esther Myers and Vanda Scaravelli.

Earth Seedlings Yoga

Jigna’s practice encourages students to reflect and trust their own explorations, and honor their experience in the postures with patience. Moving mindfully encourages insight and self-awareness, moving the student towards greater independence with a healthy, relaxed and energetic state of body and mind anywhere, anytime.

Jigna’s experience of naturally bouncing back to life with practice and exploration of yoga after a severe experience of chronic vertigo and Menier’s, encouraged her to share her experience in the community. She continues challenging and deeply enjoying herself in yoga.
